Live in harmony with her

It’s more frequent those natural disasters appear and it also become more difficult to predict the weather. Several days ago, two earthquakes happened in Samoan and Indonesia on 30th Sept and 1st Oct, thousands of people were killed. After four days, one earthquake also happened in Taiwan when one typhoon approached it.

I felt a little bit down when my sister told me the news through MSN messenger. As a Taiwanese, I understand how violent it can be when here comes an earthquake; especially my parents and sister live in 14th floor. It’s rare but “normal” to see the fish flying out of the aquarium.

It’s common to see typhoons and earthquakes in Taiwan but they bring more and more unexpected execution nowadays. The Earth is sick without doubt but the true factors of the change of the weather is still indefinite.

These beads of mine are called "green eddy of the Earth"; the main concept is they could be the modest typhoon, which follow The Doctrine of the Mean (Chinese: 中庸; pinyin: zhōng yōng). Maybe it’s a little bit philosophic but this could remind me to reduce pollutions and respect this land. But the worse is, even I know that, I will still need to pollute the Earth when the flight take off in the coming days.

Some dishes

It seems I was absent for a period of time but I am always here!:D~

In July and August, we start looking for some houses and apartments; it’s an exciting but also a tiring job. I collect a lot of information from Internet and ask for appointments with agencies. In September, I also go back to school and restart my French courses. I am surprised that I am divided into a higher-level group. I am glad with the result without doubts but that also means I get plenty of vocabularies to deal with from now on.

It’s the main reason I disappear for a while; since I have some pressure from the course in French, I concentrate on it. Even I try to do some parts of handcrafts during the weekend, I don’t have good sense to assemble them.

I am late from the original schedule but it will last till November because I am informed that we will go back to Asia for one month that also means I will be able to stop temporarily my course in Oct. I feel like playing clay as if I get the liberty. ^_^

There are a lot of techniques I want to learn; I start with the method of creating gradient colors in clay, try to arrange the cane and do the pattern. It’s difficult to make the exact shape but I like the color combination.

So, we will fly to Beijing next Thu and come back in France on 6th Nov. During the unexpected holidays, I’d continue reading your latest posts secretly. Once I do something interesting in my parents’ home, I'd also make a new post!

A Gastronomy Trip in Paris

Last night we were back home. It’s really an unforgettable memory in Paris.

First, we ware very lucky to see one rare falling start on 15th Aug evening. My husband and me were walking along a small road in the field after dinner. We met two neighbors of my parents in law and their dog. Of course we said hello to each other and chatted for a while. Suddenly my husband shouted and all of us raised the heads looking into the sky at the same time. It was a very exceptional falling start. Its head is green color and the tail is red. It’s huge as a fist and it stayed in the sky for almost 4 seconds. It was around 22h00 at that moment.

Second, we passed a great time in Ladurée Champs Elysées yesterday afternoon just before coming back to the South. Since we had a big lunch with my brother and sister in law in a Japanese restaurant near Pyramide and l’Opéra, we just ordered one dessert for each in Ladurée.

My husband ordered “Tarte Mirabelles”. It’s sweet pastry, with almond cream, and Mirabelle plums.

I chose “Millefeuille Framboise”. It is caramelized puff pastry, vanilla cream, fresh raspberries, Chantilly cream, sprinkled with icing sugar.

Beside we also shared a glass of “Thé Mélange Spécial Laudrée”. It is delicate blend of citrus fruits, rose, vanilla, and cinnamon ice tea. Very special aroma!

The patisserie is just on the 1st floor. People can buy and carry away the pastries.

We did not do that cause we have already bought a small bag of macaron in Pierre Hermé before arriving Ladurée. XD

We walked along la Seine toward the Eiffel Tower. We decided to finished these six round cakes near the river.

This was the first time I understood that macaron could be as clear as crystal when the sunshine illuminated on it. Sooo beautiful!

The vacation is over and everything is going back to normal now. I sincerely hope that I could make more beautiful pastry miniatures after this trip! :D...

Candy Jar & Cupcake Memo Clip

Before the holidays, I made one jar of candy and one cupcake memo clip.

It's fun to sculpt "BIG" size food because it's easier to do more details but it consumes a lot of clay. :X

The cupcake memo clip is for my sister in law, Stella.

Tomorrow we are going back to Paris for one week. I expect to have a joyful vacation. See you soon. :D

My 1st Blog Challenge

I was pointed out... This is my first challenge here.

The rule of my fist challenge from Snowfern Clover is
1. open the 4th file where you store your photos
2. pick out the 4th photo & publish it to your blog
3. explain a bit about it
4. pass this challenge to 4 other blogs.

The problem is I have only three main photo folders:
the 1st one is for personal and private life pictures;
the 2nd one is for the pictures that I collect from Internet and
the 3rd one is my own mini works.
Since I don't have the 4th one, I decide to choose the last one.
*Does that break the original rule? XD

In the 3rd folder of course, there are some subfolders according to different categories. As you see, this is the 4th picture of the 4th subfolder.

There are some exotic fruit cakes I made last year.
I searched some images from Internet and tried to sculpt.
It's more British style and at that time I did not know FIMO yet; I used japan resin clay.

Now I also need to pass this to 4 other bloggers, but I am a little bit worry since I am still new here and I am not sure if it's easy to make it. But... okay, let's do it!

Among these 4 bloggers, some are my new friends and some are my worship...
(1) Paloma at
Un Taller de Miniaturas
(2) Sumaiya Mehreen at Exotic Dolls by S.Mehreen
(3) Pei Li at Miniature Patisserie Chef
(4) Emmaflam & Miniman at Paris Miniature

It's a small game but... have fun!

Tea Party

Do you want to join our Tea Party? It's my honor to invite you to be our guest!:-)

First, it' necessary to find an elegant teapot set. White color is my preference.

If there is one vase of Pancy flowers, the tone would look gentle and there must be slight fragrance in the air.

A cookie tray is also important in the party. We have various of cookies and biscuits!

I made one chocolate marble cake and one orange jelly cake for my guests.

Passion fruit jelly cake is eye-catching too. I'd recommend you to taste this exotic flavor!

Do you like these swets and hot tea I prepare for you?

Enjoy a glorious tea time in our garden!

1:12 or 1:6 scale? My doll collections

From the very beginning I was crazy about collecting dolls between 2002-2004. I almost collected 20 momoko dolls, 60 Jenny dolls, around 25 Barbie and several Blyth and Pullip.

Since 95% of my dolls is 1/6 scale; 5% is 1/4 scale (Tyler & Sydney Dolls), I tried to look for everything, inclusive of clothes, suits, shoes, pets, sofa, desks, motorbikes, and boyfriends in 1/6 scale for my dolls.

So, it's quite natural for me to sculpt 1/6 scale mini food when I started.

When I make up my mind to do a usual practice of 1/12 scale miniature, I just understnd it's more difficult to do it than in 1/6. Sometimes I doubt if I could not control well my fingers and sculpt the right shapes and texture.

Maybe my question is stupid but I'd like to know if all the miniaturists practice and play with clay at home themselves to have very good kong-fu or... it's possible to find some masters who give lessons in miniatures?

Ok, I almost finish the 4th post in July. It's also a very good opportunity to practice my English. Thanks for the patience to read my post. Have a nice evening! ;-)
