Tartelettes aux fruits et au chocolat- CDHM online Tutorial

In 2009, it was the first time I attended the class in CDHM Forum and I was inspired with the techniques that the tutors shared with us. This is where I started my road of miniature creations in polymer clay. I appreciate so much the Forum organizes the basic courses for the beginners like me.

In 2010, I gave my first class “1:12 French Macaroons” in CDHM Forum and it’s published on CDHM The Miniature Way September 2010, Issue 8.

In 2011, I was absent for some personal reasons (the book and the show etc.) and now I am back.

I am pleased to tell you that I will share again a little tutorial with those who loves to make miniature food in CDHM Forum next Saturday, 12th May. As long as you are forum members, you can register and participate the course online. Hope you will enjoy making the fruit and chocolate tarts with me.

Expect to see you there!

Happy Mother's Day

After we install in the new house for a month, the Internet works finally since Friday evening. I am glad to access to the networks at home directly.

My parents-in-law come to the southern France since Tuesday for giving us some "training" because I am not good at tinkering at all. These days we all work together for repainting the shutters, the walls of the garage and for weeding in the garden. I am motivated and would like to know more techniques of house arrangement with them.

Before they arrived, I continued playing some caning at home but I don’t really make some new stuff. I will plan for the next collection soon.

Today is Mother’s Day in France; we prepare some cakes and champagne as the dessert and celebrate together at the lunchtime. Last week I wrote one brief story of mine for Mother’s Day and it’s published on Etsy.fr. We will read it with my parents-in-law this evening.

Since my husband and his dad are in front of the TV and watching Formula 1 now, my mother-in-law and me are able to access to Internet and do our own things. We both are very happy to get rid of the men for a while. :)

Afternoon Tea & Birthday Cakes

Yesterday afternoon I went for shopping in the supermarket and bought some chocolate bread and waffles for the teatime in my neighbor’s home. She is my company during my husband is absent. She is broad-minded and optimistic. I like to be with her cause she always cheers me up.

I also took some photos of my minis in her place. This week, I try making some canes, like strawberries, passion fruits and candies. I have been playing polymer clay for several months but this is the second time for caning. It’s fun but also as long as I imagine. I makes some cakes too since my birthday is coming next week.

We are going to move in the coming two weeks and my neighbor is so interested in our studio and would like to rent it after we leave. From the view of her own, I understand how she likes our balcony and the view of Golf.

During the week, I receive two “House Move” presents form two friends: “MyFrenchCuisine” paints a cake plate for us. It’s pretty and delicate with rose pattern on it. Another one is a secret friend from United Kingdom. She sent me a colorful castle card and congratulates on our moving. Even it’s just simple words, I am really touched. They both and my neighbor are my remedy when I am lonesome.

Last evening I started thinking how to arrange the messy house cause my husband will come back soon.

Just now he gave me a phone call and said he was blocked in Narita airport; due to the volcanic ash, all the airports in Europe are closed. He waits for ten hours and decides to take the flight to Taiwan. Gosh! I have been waiting for him coming back this evening but now I will still need to wait for several days.

The most funny is he will meet his brother and her sister-in-law who move to Taipei recently. I wish I could go too! *LOL* & * weep* :~

Okay, I need to find something to do otherwise I must be bored in the silent castle. Maybe it’s a good idea to clean the house; I feel always refreshed after trashing all old dusty stuffs. :-) Have a great weekend!

Alice in Wonderland ◆Alice au Pays des Merveilles

During the weekend, we went to the cinema and saw the 3D movie “Alice in Wonderland”. The story is simple but the tea party scene is quite interesting.

After Alice dinks some kind of magic liquid, she becomes a tiny girl. Her little blue dress does make me crazy.

I imagine I could find some similar dress for my dolls but I find one stunning “Mad Hatter” doll on Etsy.

It's cool, non?! :)

My husband is going for business trip for two weeks. This time I don’t go with him cause I need to stay home and prepare to move by the end of April. So I got an extra Easter gift –a small bicycle! When I feel bored at home, I am able to go biking with my neighbor Elizabeth.

I passed a couple of cozy days last week and did not make any minis. I hope I can find some new ideas and inspirations to continue my next projects!

Tea Party

Do you want to join our Tea Party? It's my honor to invite you to be our guest!:-)

First, it' necessary to find an elegant teapot set. White color is my preference.

If there is one vase of Pancy flowers, the tone would look gentle and there must be slight fragrance in the air.

A cookie tray is also important in the party. We have various of cookies and biscuits!

I made one chocolate marble cake and one orange jelly cake for my guests.

Passion fruit jelly cake is eye-catching too. I'd recommend you to taste this exotic flavor!

Do you like these swets and hot tea I prepare for you?

Enjoy a glorious tea time in our garden!
