Au Rêve Gourmand: Tea Salon and Library

I started the tea salon project in 2016 but for the whole concrete project I started offically from the second half of the year 2017. It includes 5 scenes : pastry shop, tea salon, library, tea shop and terrace garden. In between 2017 and 2018, I completed the electric lighting setting. It was a complicated but very interesting project. I also have completed most part of the furniture. During the two weeks of lockdown, I have filled the bookshelves with copies of gilded books. The library in the second floor is almost done.
The painting "Lilas in the glass vase" is the work of my friend Catherine Buron Masbou de 'NINETTE & CO'!
I now need to get more inspiration for the next project! :)

Ô Délices! Pastry Cart - Part 2

I was back to work on Pastry Cart Project on the 24th April when having the vacations in my in-laws' place. Since I had the most difficult part and found no way to bend the brass tube for the pastry counter's lamps. My papa in law gave me plenty of ideas and helped me find out the solution. We had made a 5 day workshop together in their place.

When back to the south of France, I completed the hardware of the cart. The pastry counter is a structure made in cartboards, transparent acrylic sheet and brass tubes. I did not find a correct glue for gluing them together; it's fragile. I hope I am able to improve this part in the future.

I am indeed in a hurry since it remains 5 weeks (actually 4 weeks remaining for me), then my first show in Paris this year will begin. I need more time to complete everything I want to try.

In 2009, it was the first time I attended the class in CDHM Forum and I was inspired with the techniques that the tutors shared with us. This is where I started my road of miniature creations in polymer clay. I appreciate so much the Forum organizes the basic courses for the beginners like me.

In 2010, I gave my first class “1:12 French Macaroons” in CDHM Forum and it’s published on CDHM The Miniature Way September 2010, Issue 8.

In 2011, I was absent for some personal reasons (the book and the show etc.) and now I am back.

I am pleased to tell you that I will share again a little tutorial with those who loves to make miniature food in CDHM Forum next Saturday, 12th May. As long as you are forum members, you can register and participate the course online. Hope you will enjoy making the fruit and chocolate tarts with me.

Expect to see you there!

Meats, Ballotin Boxes and Workshops in Paris

I continue doing some experiments of color mix for meats lately. I also madesome chocolate boxes.

If you have been reading my blog since 2010, you must notice the Italian meats are very similar to those I had made before our house was burgaled. Unfortunately this happened again when we had vacation in Massif Central. We sense we have to secure more of our home. Some construction starts today and will finish in Jun.

Some news of the SIMP workshops
I will give 2 little projects on 23rd Jun:
 (1) Breads & grapes (morning)

(2) Charlotte aux fruits de la-passion (afternoon)

I hope these two projects are interesting!  In the courses, I will explain the techniques in English and French. That will be a great challenge to me too!! LOL

Gorgeous! Ladurée Religieuses come to my home

I was so delightful when opening the parcel of Alison of Bliss Miniatures. This is the BEST miniature religeuses that I have ever seen. Look at these details that Alison has made… I adore them.

When I noticed Alison’s Etsy shop last year, I have made up my mind to own some of her works. In July, when she launched her web, I saw the little religeuses waving the hands (yes) and they beckoned my spirit. This is what I could not resist. They are that realistic and darling. I must make a beautiful home for them.

The mini sofa and chair were purchased from eBay UK. They were second hand ones, so the price was not expensive. The most difficult part was removing the paper patterns. I did the job in mid-July, as you can imagine how much sweat has mixed with Tacky Glue.

I am so pleased to have Alison’s religieuses, the rose and the cupcake come to my home. I do hope someday I am capable to make some pastries as beautiful as hers!! (Thank you Alison for such wonderful creation!)

Champagne, Roses, St. Valentine's Day

I wish I could be a romantic girl! :o)

I was fond of making pastry boxes and finally some ideas occurred to me on Sat. I made some paper bags to go with the champagne. They are great for the occasion, aren't they?

Flower and plants making is my current projects. I would love to play and enjoy the happiness when learning creafts.
The orchids are one of my favorite works.
Dimension of vase: 20x8x25mm

I re-make some flower baskets too. Dimension of basket: 30x20x35mm

Some roses in a bunny planter!

Except good wine, flowers, who says women don't need some luxuries to show off?! These (the real ones) would be very nice presents for St. Valentine's Day!

People say French is romantic but this saying is not suitable in my house. Will go out later and buy some chocolate for my big bear. Happy St. Valentine's Day, friends!

Three-year-anniversary of marriage: my darling macaroon charlotte

Just a short post that tomorrow will be the 1st day of our 4th year of marriage.

I re-made some “Charlottes de macarons aux fruits de la Passion” yesterday for fun.

This passion fruit macaroon charlotte is also a souvenir. It has been the 1st item on my Etsy shop in Feb. I am happy to re-make some loose cream on top. It’s not perfect but looks tasty!

The wedding picture is taken in 2007. We looked pretty on the picture cause it’s “wedding photo” LOL. I appreciate my husband finishes the meals I prepare for him everyday and he does not divorce me even I don’t make up at all.

I am going to cook now. Hope you like my charlottes! :D~
Have a great evening everybody!

Vivre la France! The winner is....

Today is the National Day of France; we started to have fireworks since last night. This week I made some berries to go with “Bonne Maman Tartelettes framboises” in celebration of this day.

The products of Bonne Maman, like biscuits, fruit jam and Madeleine, are very common but popular in the daily life. We always keep some ‘storage’ in the drawer. Normally we have afternoon tea at 4pm (à quatre heure) but when children are back from school, it’s already 5pm. So we often enjoy the teatime between 5 and 6pm then have dinner between 8 and 9pm in France.

Now we go back to my blog’s anniversary giveaway.

This morning I asked my husband to draw… before showing the winner, I would like to say thank you to all the participants for this event. I am pleased that you would like to win my minis and I am sure we will have more gifts in the coming months.

So… let’s start!
I printed all the ballot paper this morning

putting into my tea bowl...

This mister has his own opinion to draw the paper out of the bowl...

Obviously the winner is…..

Chani of Blanc et Caramel Congraulations, my friend!
I will dispatch your minis soon and don't forget to let me know your address! :)
Bonne fête!
