I have packed everything ready in my luggage for the SIMP show. On my working table, I see many unbaked macaroons smiling at me. It's fine. It's like a race, we always chase after time. I am pleased to return to SIMP show and restart making miniatures. Compared to my last show in Paris, I find my taste, my style and my preference have changed. I hope what I love will please the customers and the friends of the mini land....
Cross my fingers!

Ô Délices! Pastry Cart - Part 2

I was back to work on Pastry Cart Project on the 24th April when having the vacations in my in-laws' place. Since I had the most difficult part and found no way to bend the brass tube for the pastry counter's lamps. My papa in law gave me plenty of ideas and helped me find out the solution. We had made a 5 day workshop together in their place.

When back to the south of France, I completed the hardware of the cart. The pastry counter is a structure made in cartboards, transparent acrylic sheet and brass tubes. I did not find a correct glue for gluing them together; it's fragile. I hope I am able to improve this part in the future.

I am indeed in a hurry since it remains 5 weeks (actually 4 weeks remaining for me), then my first show in Paris this year will begin. I need more time to complete everything I want to try.

Blog Anniversary Giveaway

My blog is going to be three years old in July. I appreciate all of you who continue reading, supporting and leaving me comments in the posts. It’s so great to share my works here with you.
After enjoy three-year time playing FIMO, my first paper baby was born in May. There is an invisible hand pushing me forward and I always think the power coming from my audiences. If you don’t look at me, I might feel lonely when dancing in the stage of blogland.

In the previous post, I mentioned I did not have any copy of book for sale but I still have 4 in hand. Before dispatching books to customers, I checked all the books one by one; once I found some trace or stain in the book, I kept it aside. This is why I still keep 4. It’s possible to return them to the publisher but I consider of this for a moment due to the environmental consciousness. They don’t look nice on the cover but the contents are still helpful and attractive to those who are interested in the techniques of miniatures made in polymer clay. Once you agree with my viewpoints, welcome to participate this event. :)

Here I would like to offer a book or a mini peony for my blog readers.
So, as long as you are the follower of my blog, leave your comments and let me know which gift you prefer in this post by 13th July then you will have the opportunity to take my book or the mini peony home! I highly appreciate if you leave the news on your blog too!

The lucky winners will be announced on 14th July, 18h00 local time in France.

I also give another copy as a giveaway on the fan page of Facebook.
Welcome to take another entry there too!

Have you all had a great time on St. Valentine’s Day?

I know I was late! Though the special day has been passing, I still wish you all had very good time, had great chocolate and have received wonderful gifts from your beloveds.

Yes, I am back to France, another home of mine! It was terribly cold when I arrived in CDG airport. During the first week, I made the cocooning and watched Japanese TV series at home. :D

Before going back to Taipei for the Chinese New Year, I spent two days in Hong Kong and met several miniaturists I admired.

It was great fun to meet Lulu (Lulu’s Miniatures) who was back from Australia for the vacation with her family; we went shopping and tried different HK dim sums together. She made a very cute mushroom gift box for me as the CNY present. :o) After separating with her, I took the metro and met another friend Una.

Thanks to Una, I had the opportunity to meet Maggie Chan (WK Maggie's Miniatures), a very famous tutor and miniaturist in Hong Kong. It was stunning to see so many beautiful works in her atelier. Maggie was a very friendly and nice lady; she showed me several precious pieces of her friends and also gave me many gifts. (I was spoiled again) I was very lucky to see the works of Tony Lai (tototon model world) glancing in the spotlight. That evening, Una’s husband invited us for dinner; we had a lot of seafood at Lei Yue Mun! :)

I was also very happy to meet Amy (Amy’s Miniatures) and Cheily (Petit
deCherries) the next morning.  We went yum cha before I left for the airport. It was a short but very interesting visit!!

I was busy for the workshops which were held in Taipei between 12th and 15th Jan. I was pleased to meet so many girls and ladies during the four days.  The eldest lady who joined the workshop was a professor of one famous university and the youngest girl was a primary school student. As an instructor, I taught how to make the miniatures in the classroom but I have leant how to be a good teacher in return.  I did appreciate this valuable experience. I also have to say thank-you to all my friends and students!
Just several days before coming back to France, I was honored to have the contact from Miniatures Museum of Taiwan. I expect for the next! :)

Flower of April- Peonies

I have chatted with a friend about a dreamy wedding scene recently. I started to make some peony bouquets since I believe peony is popular and welcome for most of brides.

After seeing these flowers in full bloom on my craft table, I suddenly became conscious that I needed to force my chef to be back to the tiny kitchen. She has been spending too much time in the garden.

Have a cozy weekend and hope you love my tiny flowers, friends! Don't forget our giveaway either! :o)

Champagne, Roses, St. Valentine's Day

I wish I could be a romantic girl! :o)

I was fond of making pastry boxes and finally some ideas occurred to me on Sat. I made some paper bags to go with the champagne. They are great for the occasion, aren't they?

Flower and plants making is my current projects. I would love to play and enjoy the happiness when learning creafts.
The orchids are one of my favorite works.
Dimension of vase: 20x8x25mm

I re-make some flower baskets too. Dimension of basket: 30x20x35mm

Some roses in a bunny planter!

Except good wine, flowers, who says women don't need some luxuries to show off?! These (the real ones) would be very nice presents for St. Valentine's Day!

People say French is romantic but this saying is not suitable in my house. Will go out later and buy some chocolate for my big bear. Happy St. Valentine's Day, friends!

Cupcakes for your sweetheart & gentleman! [My Etsy online shop]

Still 4 days, St Valentine is coming. I am not good at words.
I seldom say some sweet words to my ex-bfs even my husband.
For me, happiness is just from the pure hearts that we have ever exchanged and many tiny things we have ever experienced together.
But I admit that sometimes the honeyed phrases are quite necessary and useful even at that moment we felt like vomiting but we laughed at the same time in the end.

I am touched and fascinated when reading some brief paragraphs or simple sentences. Here is one for St. Valentine's Day:

"Mon Coeur a rencontré le tien…Il est à toi… garde le bien!"

"My heart have encountered yours…It’s yours… take good care of it!"
--> I promise I will repeat this in Chinese in front of my husband on 14th Feb, no laughing.

Another thing is I consider what to do first for my own business on Etsy.
I believe it would be great for me since it’s part of my passion.
This will be also the first time that I start managing my own online shop.
So many details need to handle.
I just realize how much efforts the sellers need to prepare…
not only the creation parts but administrative procedure & responsibility need to take.

Okay, so eventually my Etsy shop is here:

Hope I will start smoothly…. *Praying!
